9/23: DJing at the Lunar Inn

Out of the blue I was asked by the good folks at Port Richmond’s Lunar Inn to DJ, so I said yes because it sounded like fun.

Let’s overlook the fact that I haven’t DJ’ed in any kind of capacity in a several years, perhaps a decade or more since I have done it in a bar/nightclub/restaurant setting. I barely touch my LPs as-is, so this sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Or it could be great. The future is unknown!

IDK what I’m going to play. Probably stuff that falls somewhere on the indie rock-adultwave-terminally plaid-blagga spectrum. You know the drill if you were a regular listener of my WPRB shows.

Anyhow, that’s what I’m doing on Saturday, September 23, 7-11 PM at the Lunar Inn (3124 Richmond Street).

Let’s be real: I’m old, so are you, and there’s a lot going on in town that night with the Arkestra and whatnot, so if you show up, hey, thanks in advance. If not, no big, I probably flaked out on your thing too.

My only request is that you do not hover near the DJ booth and attempt to have an ongoing conversation of substance with me. That’s just not my style when I am playing records, so please, bring a friend or learn how to be social.

Eat a meal, the food’s great there. Emily and Zach have done an outstanding job of running this spot and making it a fun, relaxed place to hang in the Port Richmond neighborhood. (I don’t drink any more, but everyone speaks VERY highly of their offerings.)
