Obits, “Back and Forth”
There must be some unwritten rule that says Obits aren’t allowed to sound pretty, what with Froberg’s high-pitched snarl and all. But on this particular track from the forthcoming debut for Sub Pop, the reverb stops being the equivalent of a hall of mirrors (which btw, I’m into), and sounds so, so… pretty. There’s no other word for it, really.
All I can think is how great this would be as a Shangri-La’s song. I’m not crazy, am I?
