I believe it is important to share this information. I don’t know the women personally involved but I think it is terrible what has happened to them. Going out to a nightclub, walking down the street, etc. — none of this should ever make us feel unsafe.
- People are working with the proper authorities to deal with this individual. If you have information to share, use the Philadelphia Police Department’s “tips” hotline (215-686-8477).
What you can do
- Flyers are being distributed at events in town, and can be found on telephone poles, etc. You can download a PDF of the poster here.
- Feel free to share this post.
- Philadelphia Weekly writer Tara Murtha is also interested in hearing from you; get in touch with her if you have information to share.
UPDATE: An excerpt of the statement from the Barbary:
I can tell you that when it happened, the we took the necessary steps we always would during any type of altercation. … I do not condone any type of violence at the Barbary or in general. I will continue to make the Barbary as safe and as comfortable as possible.
