I watch a lot of Cartoon Network on purpose (and unintentionally, as my TV automatically switches to this channel every time I turn it on). Lately, I have noticed that Mattel has been using a cover version of Aqua’s “Barbie Girl” in their commercials as of late. We are truly living in the age of post-post-irony if consumer culture has adopted a critique of consumer culture it so vehemently railed against.
