FUCK NO

TAMPAX HAS AN AD ON SPOTIFY THAT’S ABOUT TAMPONS AND THEN THEY WANT YOU TO SHARE YOUR FAVORITE FEMALE ARTISTS

UGHGUGHGHGHG

So very good.

Musician Digital Royalties →

A really useful breakdown of what musicians make on the different service providers. I know there’s a graphic floating around the Internet that shows the same thing (from the same guy!), and this is not complete, but sometimes I really enjoy just looking at spreadsheets and numbers.

Screaming Females, “If It Makes You Happy”

This is actually great but I liked Sheryl Crow anyway!

Last night's radio program up on Spotify →

Missed out on last night’s radio show? I have put together most of it on Spotify. You don’t get my mic breaks and all of that, but let’s face it, they weren’t that interesting. If you like this, I may continue doing it for future programs.

These are my people.

LITERALLY THE WEIRDEST THING EVER

Just walked into my apartment at the very moment WPRB began playing “Obligated” by Bedroom Problems, an hour and a half after I had finished my own radio program on WPRB.

JAM OF THE SUMMER. SHUT IT ALL DOWN.

I agree with this sentiment.

Upcoming May & June Shows

bedroomproblems:

If you’re looking for a reason to celebrate, we’ve got you covered. Bedroom Problems are playing three (!!!) shows between right now and the end of June.

On May 18 we’re part of a fundraiser for the East Kensington Neighborhood Association. We practice in Kensington, so we’re proud to lend a hand to a  great community organization.

Next, on June 15 we’ll celebrate the 260th anniversary of Ben Franklin’s discovery of electricity at Milkboy in Center City with Eternal Summers (VA, Kanine Records). If their last show in town was any indication, this show will be crazy packed, so get your tickets now!

We saved the best for last on June 30, when play at Kung Fu Necktie for Sugar Town. Sugar Town puts the musical contributions of women in the spotlight, so we’re super-proud to be a part of it.

Full show details are below; check our websiteblog, and related social media accounts for more details. We always appreciate having you at our shows – it makes being on stage so much fun!

We have a few shows. We’re working on new material. Who knows how many pedals I will accrue by the end of June. (note to self, they are not like vacation hours.)

What happens when a foulmouthed satellite radio DJ - played by the multi-platinum selling artist and outrageously charming Dane Cook - is forced to share the mic with a chipper NPR feminist? It’s anyone’s call in this sharp new comedy from producer Stephen Falk (“Weeds”) and Emmy-winning director Marc Buckland (“Grimm,” “My Name Is Earl”).

For those of us in the trenches of radio, it’s so good to know there’s a show out there which will reflect our reality so well. Also, Dane Cook as a misogynist radio DJ? That must be a stretch.

P.S. I am on the air tonight. 7-9PM!
