Like I said in the blahcast, it was a pleasant day in Austin. I wasn’t feeling the urge to see every showcase/party in existence, which is what I plan to do today. I’ve got my “Love is A Battlefield” t-shirt and Robyn neckerchief on, so anything’s possible.
BTW, if you’re curious, that’s a little crowd snippet of Gowns playing at Ms. Bea’s in the blahcast. I forgot to mention that. I’m actually surprised by how much I like this band live, especially since I had written them off as sounding like Miranda July backing a drone band (which sounded totally unappealing to me). But, yeah, wow.

Forgot to mention these guys, but this was exactly what you want happening in Austin — happy accidents. My pals and I were heading back towards W 6th Street when we heard this band blaring out of a space. We all came to the conclusion that Bildmeister sound a lot like the Wedding Present and the Clean — so much, in fact, that we thought those bands were rehearsing. Don’t know anything about these guys, but they sound good. You should have a listen, too.
