ugh. i really, really despise I-95 traffic. i sat in traffic, 15 miles outside of downtown philadelphia, for over an hour. arrived at the station at 2.30 and feeling stressed out.

i grabbed a stack of new records, a chunk of compilation records and did what i needed to do to get through the show.

started off the set with this radiant boy’s new ep, played in its entirety to bide some time and figure out some general direction for the show. they play at tritone on 7/16 [err… tonight]. its their record release party.

from indie rock i went to OG rock’n'roll and soul. that was pretty fun! after that, your guess is as good as mine when determining what my “direction” was.

ended my show with a splitting headache, all thanks to the lights which signal incoming calls.

when you’ve realized you’re hitting a patch of karmic payback, how does it feel? for me, im feeling as frustrated as marty mcfly in back to the future – i know whats going on and how it can be prevented but can’t do a damn thing because it will ruin the whole space-time continuum [or something like that].

watch the shins new video on MTV. as a former figure skater, i enjoyed it.

other things i used to do: rate people’s outfits when heavily intoxicated. many will recall this is how i almost was thrown out of the white stripes khyber performance a few years ago. finally, a site built just for me: honey, no.

a c newman is not as hideous as i made it out to be in my mind. its not that bad. but its not the greatest thing since sliced bread, which is what everyone claims.

i find it endearing that the thermals named their record after a phrase that WPRB coined. [dont believe me? proof is here!]

i saw farenheit 9-11 last night and it managed to make me feel even more horrible about being an american. [if thats possible.]

on that note, here’s the only thing that expresses my feelings right now, “not proud of the usa,” by the mice. it was recorded sometime during the 80’s [evidenced by the anti-reagan sentiments expressed within] but the line “that red white and blue can’t justify everything you do,” sums it up.

also on today’s playlist: more fun in the new world, x.
