a quick thought on howard stern
March 31st, 2004ever since i started listening to air america ive been thinking: maybe howard stern should broadcast his show here. think about it - the situation benefits the station and the dj. if AA is looking to open up the minds of people [and bolster its current liberal community], putting howard on here would obviously attract a much larger audience. and vice versa for howard.
OK, thats about as far as ive gotten on this one.

i listened for about 4 minutes yesterday. My response to the afternoon show is: yuck! it’s just as uninformed and dogmatic as the right wing stuff, and equally smug. To say that some Republicans in Congress aren’t dissatisfied with the Administration is really inaccurate. I don’t have sources in front of me, but I’m pretty certain that the Congressman seeking re-election are sweating bullets that the jobs situation continues to be as uncertain as it is.
I still like Democracy Now! although it can at times be somewhat pedantic. They actually get folks from both sides together to talk. And then there’s the Christian Science Monitor and the Guardian.
I just don’t think Air America will win an influential audience by election time. Maybe I’m wrong.

they’re new is right, but they’re not greenhorns. i bet that franken show’s good. and with the “backing” they have, you’d expect something totally awesome, like a serious radio program. but maybe i’m wrong.
i hope it gets better.
