programming notes

i went to a party saturday night and went home at 5AM. since you dont know me very well, i will mention that this never happens to me… anymore. good or bad, i was hungover and exhausted when i awoke a few hours later. i crammed as much fluid as possible into my body and felt pretty OK by the time i got into the station. OK, not great. could have been better.

as a result, i felt pretty sluggish in the studio. im going to overlook the nightmare of a transition that was spoon to exploding hearts, as well as dropping the ball on timing all over the place. of course in retrospect, given that i was running on 4 hours of sleep and knowing how poorly i function in those circumstances, i didnt do so bad.

the north of america record gets better and better with each listen. its a crying shame they’re breaking up. i should do a whole “canada rock” segment on my show: constantines, noa, everything on sonic unyon, sianspheric, tristan psionic, blah blah. would be fun!

note: lorelei is not the same as old-school indie slumberland records lorelei. i always forget to mention this.

during el guapo, the station phone lit up. one line was a bunch of wiseguys on a cell phone asking me to spell enon, and i never picked up the second because those guys were being so pesky. its been a while since ive really had to deal with callers.

i got three requests and 2 of them slipped my mind [smiths, karate]. ill get to them next week. i swear. pedro the lion is not as bad as i wanted it to be, but im not throwing anymore christian rock into my sets. even if my show is on the Lord’s day.

calexico/jenny/amor belhom/giant sand - all linked by the first band. jenny recorded with calexico, amor belhom are friends of the band [though im not quite sure if they recorded with them], giant sand has members of calexico in it… tucsonariffic!
