things that rosemary sees on her way to work

On my way to work this morning I spotted a license plate that said “ZERO-IQ.” That’s funny in itself, but there was an FOP sticker next to it.

i should mention that this comes right when a judge finally throws the book at those two policemen in the drunk-driving cover-up scandal. i just want to use that phrase from one of those sam lipsyte stories in venus drive (open city books), “they brought it on themselves,” over and over again.

just like the news of angel ortiz and his teenage joyriding hijinks, im sure this one will disappear from the news shortly.

is it just me, or since timoney left / is leaving the PD, did everything take a total nosedive? regardless of this “no smoking on the job” policy he installed, everytime i drive down broad street i see a cop with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth.

if license plate numbers were telephone numbers you could actually call up [hello halfbakery!], you know whose mobile phone would be constantly busy.

sincerely, maria tessa sciarrino, city hall watchdog.
