two good records

the new edith frost, wonder wonder - if liz phairs “white bird of texas” was cleaned up, this is basically what ediths new album sounds like. its warm and sparse [kudos to mr albini] and almost feels like living in a log cabin.

the new bunnybrains album. oh, so good. so sludgy. i may never return this to the station.

which reminds me this week i will not be on wprb at my scheduled time, i have a shoot to take care of. ill be back the week after.

id really like to do some work right now, but im just feeling lazy. tonight is the big mcsweeneys thing at the north star bar. yawn for a group of people known for their cunning lingual skills, they couldnt have picked a blander lineup [brother jt3, mazarin & the delta 72] - the exception being bjt3 - for their inaugural event. if i dont make it there, im off to the khyber to see eltro and the science of…. it depends on how far i feel like going with my trusty two-speed.

another weekend gone - because skyway needs to be finished up, i cant go to carnaval in olde city, go garage sale shopping in bella vista or see “americas sweethearts” with megan and sara. okay, ill quite whining now.

records i want:

- that new aislers set 7″ with the girls at our best cover - i wonder if this live version is from the show at swarthmore [with comet gain and that new heavenly band] in the winter? that was incredibly fun, free beer and tons of people getting loaded, making out in this chalet structure. hooray for indie pop.

- the new winterbrief album - based upon what i saw last night, its gotta be good. if you haven heard this group, they pick up where bis left off, after they decided the sweet shop avengerz schtick wasnt cool enough and started acting all grown up. its angry, its techno, and its awesome.
