bad bad news

winterbrief had to cancel out of our april sugartown event for various reasons.

opportunity for you?

sugartown needs a band to fill the void. that band, could be yours. here’s the requirements:

- you can play april 12th [a thursday night]
- you have at least one female member in the band [the more, the better your chances considering this is an event dedicated to showcasing female musicians]
- you can visit our website and email us as soon as possible.

i told you i wasnt going to slack off on adding more photographs.

included in this batch are various shots from chicago, dc, new brunswick and philadelphia. yea, i get around.

please stop emailing me your comments, i mean this in the nicest way possible. id really like to see someone use the blogvoices option and discuss their feelings on these things with the rest of the world.

finally, a chance to explain

Wednesday, March 21st, 2001

finally, a chance to explain everything since september without having to resort to verbal grunting.

please use the blogvoices option on this website to discuss how you feel about them. if you think they suck, i really want to hear that. im tired of good comments. give me some criticism. please.

im aware of the overusage of the self-portrait. i know.

this is only a small fraction of the stuff ive scanned in recently. look forward to more images.

its a really long ride

damn. one of the few rarities remaining in my “vast” music collection is going to be no longer rare.

i mean, is this “lost” album really worth it? what kind of artifact does it think it is?

half way there i picked

half way there

i picked up a fully completed print today from silicon. if youre looking at the top four images to you left, its the one in the right column, second down from the top. while it is not as large as i envisioned it to be [when i first began considering size], its still pretty big, 30″ by 30″ to be exact.

the second i caught a glimpse of it, it took my breath away. its beautiful, and i cant beleive that its my work. in fact, i almost think that maybe someone else snuck out while i wasnt around and released the shutter.

but i know i did this, because i remember how fucking cold it was on that particular night and the way the high school students [out too late in the middle of the week] who passed through the scene looked at me as if i was a lunatic. [well.]

my boss and i spent the lunch hours at lecture where patrick nagatani was the guest. if i didnt fall asleep through most of it, i would be able to tell you how it was. it wasnt that he was boring, it was that i have been sleep-deprived for the last week and when the lights go out… i go out too.

probably from day one of my ever-enthralling art school experience, there has been a constant: jon will make fun of me whenever the opportunity arises.

now the tables have turned. its my turn to make fun of him, as he tries to pick up girls via makeoutclub by talking about his band, and trying to give away what remaining copies he has of his really hilarious senior film. [its really good. contact him for a copy]

jon, you are one fine piece of a — uh, work.
